Mission and History

The Spring Glen Church Nursery School was founded in 1955.

Children have loving, competent care in a setting ideal for learning and development. They have opportunities to develop social relationships and to enjoy appropriate play experiences.

Children experience the curriculum through our integrated literature and theme based educational program.

School Policies

Toilet Training
Children must be toilet trained.

Health Forms
Children must have health forms from their pediatricians each year.

Open House
An Open House takes place in the spring for prospective parents and children.

Snacks/Lunch
Nutritional snacks are provided by the school. Spring Glen Church Nursery School is a peanut-free school.  The 3-year-olds start bringing lunch in October. The 4-year-olds bring lunch all year.

Snow Days/Delays
If Hamden public schools are closed due to snow, the Nursery School also closes.
When Hamden schools have a delay, the Spring Glen Church Nursery School will open at 10am.

Birthday Parties
Parents may provide small cupcakes without frosting or cookies, ice cream cups, donut holes, or juice, if they desire.

Class Photographs
Individual and group photos are taken each year. The purchase of photos is optional.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Teachers hold conferences with parents of 4-year-olds in March.  Appointments with any teacher may be made at any time.  Teachers will contact parents if they have any concerns.
