Spring Glen Rock & Blues Night - Friday, January 30th

With Music from HAND, Elle Sera and Blue Trail

On Friday, January 30th, we will be hosting our eighth annual Rock & Blues Night, which each year raises funds to support a worthy cause. This year the money collected will go to benefit two Hamden charity groups, the Hamden Food Bank and the Hamden Clergy Fuel Bank.

The event, which takes place from 6 – 10pm, will feature the folk-rock band “HAND”, who formed in Switzerland in the 1970s, and whose original album “Everybody’s Own” has become internationally collectible; a recent re-release of the album sold out in two weeks. The band re-formed in 2013, and since then they have released a new album and have been featured on NPR. There will also be musical entertainment from Elle Sera, a CT born & raised artist who has performed on Broadway, in film, tv and radio since she was a young child, and who draws on her influences of rock, rhythm and blues, pop, americana and folk to create a vibe and sound unique to her. In addition, Blue Trail, Hamden’s own Toe Tappin’ Home Timey Band, will be there to deliver an eclectic blend of Folk, Rock, Country and Bluegrass guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step – familiar tunes and soulful originals combine for a perfect winter evening musical journey.

Between each musical act there will be karaoke interludes, and the event is a potluck - please bring whatever edible items you wish. Alcohol will not be served, however the event is BYOB, so attendees should feel free to bring their own alcoholic beverages if they wish. Admission is free, with all donations being voluntary, and the concert is open to everyone - so invite all your friends!
